The 4 Speed tansaxle has become the “work horse” of all off-road gearboxes. In the past 10 years it has won unlimited class off-road races, more than any other transaxle on the market including the 2009 BITD Parker 425, the 2009 SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge and the 2008 SCORE Baja 1000.

Features:

– 25mm wide gears
– 145 lbs. / 28″ long
– 10″ ring & pinion
– Ratios available: 4.86, 4.38, 3.88
– Can be run with clutch or torque converter
– Dog ring engagement (for fast no-clutch shifts)
– Straight cut gears (for maximum power transfer)
– Internal oil pump
– Can be run mid or rear engine configuration
– Ratios available from 16.8:1 to 3.3:1
– Differential flange width of 7 3/4″ or 8 1/2″

All gears and ring & pinions are made from proprietary British alloys and heat treated in computer controlled ovens for maximum strength and quality control.

Options:

– 4 Spider Open Differential, Limited Slip Differential or Spool (CV Flange to CV Flange)
– Optional power steering pump on end cover
– Optional torque converter pump on end cover
– 934 or 930 CV flanges

Fortin 5 Speed Transaxle

Features:

– 10″ ring & pinion
– Can be run with clutch or torque converter
– Dog ring engagement (for fast no-clutch shifts)
– Straight cut gears (for maximum power transfer)

– Ratios available from 16.8:1 to 3.3:1

Fortin P2

FRS4-P2

4-Speed sequentially shifted gearbox designed for front engine rear wheel drive race cars. This gearbox is currently running in the TORC short course off-road racing series. The gearbox has successfully run all the 2009 races in a Pro-2 truck. Current application is a 4200 lbs. vehicle, 35″ tires and 800hp.

– 4-Speed Sequential
– Quick change drop gear set
– Torque converter driven
– Dog ring engagement
– Ratios available from 3.46 to 0.89
– 1350 driveshaft yoke
– Allows vehicle to run a stronger, “taller” rear end gear ratio
