Hello,

I’m Rick Wright, owner of The Wright Gearbox. I’ve been building and repairing cars and sand rails since I was a kid. Growing up, I was fortunate to work at my parent’s VW shop, shapening my skills, while most of my free time was spent in the dirt and on the strip. My family and I have always worked in the automotive industry. It has been and always will be a significant part of our lives. We spend our winters cruising the dunes in Glamis with our family and friends. We also have a class 3000 car that we race in competitions.

My business has​ been specializing in transmissions for over a decade. My crew and I spend our time getting to know our customers better by “walking in their shoes,” and learning what they want and what they expect out of the vehicles they drive. I’ve always used my personal knowledge and hands-on experience to help guide our customers to the best products available for their specific needs. We work with various race teams that run several different classes to determine what works or what improvements need to be made. We are also proud to work directly with the manufacturers on new products and product testing to help build a better transmission that meets everybody’s needs. 

At The Wright Gearbox we offer full service and sales for Albins, Fortin, Mendeola, PBS, Volkswagen, and Weddle transmissions. We work on transmissions for all types of applications from street, strip, sand, and off-road in our full service facility with state of the art equipment. We magnaflux all transmission parts when we do any repairs or rebuilds, and we specialize in building and rebuilding transmissions from stock to high horsepower with customizations like polished, powder coated, or painted cases with different gear ratios that fit your needs and anything else that makes it fit to your specifications.
